Travel in the northern United States (excluding Alaska)

In recent years, my wife and I traveled through New England and the northern Plains states. Primarily, I just wanted to see these areas of the United States. The scenery was beautiful. The landscapes and gardens here and in Alaska made an impression on me. After living for many years in Florida, these trips helped me realize that these northern states had ideas to offer for my garden. In particular, some of the summer annuals of these northern states have potential for use as winter annuals in the Coastal Southeast. Many of the perennial plants, however, are limited to areas to our north and help give those gardens their regional character.
